Our Commitment to Safeguarding
Pathways Engagement & Mentoring is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Safeguarding is central to all aspects of our provision and practice. We believe all children and young people have the right to feel safe, supported and protected within nurturing and respectful environments.
Our approach to safeguarding is underpinned by strong relationships, clear professional boundaries, collaborative working and a culture of vigilance and care.
Safeguarding Practice
Pathways Engagement & Mentoring is committed to:
• Maintaining a strong safeguarding culture across all aspects of provision
• Working collaboratively with schools, families and external professionals
• Following statutory safeguarding guidance and reporting procedures
• Providing safe, supportive and consistent environments for children and young people
• Ensuring all adults working within the provision understand their safeguarding responsibilities
• Promoting pupil wellbeing, emotional safety and positive relationships
Safer Recruitment & Staff Checks
All staff and volunteers involved in Pathways Engagement & Mentoring are expected to share our commitment to safeguarding and child wellbeing.
Appropriate safeguarding checks, including enhanced DBS clearance, will be completed in line with safer recruitment expectations and statutory guidance.

Working Alongside Schools & Families
Pathways Engagement & Mentoring works collaboratively with schools, families and external agencies to ensure safeguarding concerns are appropriately identified, recorded and communicated.
Safeguarding procedures are designed to complement existing school and local authority safeguarding arrangements.
Safeguarding and child wellbeing remain central to all aspects of our provision, relationships and practice.
